On the playground of our housing estate, there was a metal climbing frame, a table with benches, and a dusty football pitch with two goals. There were parts of the estate where there were more pieces of playground equipment, but this was the one closest to us. Compared to today’s playgrounds, it seems quite unstimulating, yet we never saw it that way. We made our own fun, always found ways to entertain ourselves, and were never bored.
