There was a doorway on our street where a white dog used to bark at me aggressively every time I passed. I have to admit, I really didn’t like it and I was quite scared of it. One day the owner called out to us—my friends and me—saying that his dog had escaped and asking if we could help look for it. He even offered a reward. I quietly stepped back. Later I learned it was a bull terrier, and they did find it, but I never actually came face to face with it—only in the painting.
